In 12th century England a church in Dunmow, England promised a flitch (side) of bacon to any married man who could swear before the congregation that he had not quarried with his wife for a year and a day. DATES WRAPPED IN BACON
Set oven to 400 degrees
Cut bacon strips in half
Wrap a date with the bacon and secure with a toothpick
Place on a wire rack and bake for 15 – 20 minutes
If they are not crispy enough place under broiler for 3 – 5 more minutes, but keep an eye on them as they sizzle away.
